Major issue with the new Answers layout.

Hello, again.

So I had some of my old answers from the days I was writing trash I noticed something from it got upvoted. It was back in the day I thought the 6R8 coil was the problem with these phones. This answer is in question.

Now, I'd like to write up a new answer and then delete this. The main reason is I want to get the 6R8 coil out of the history to keep it from showing. This is usually not the issue so I'm embarrassed I once thought it solved anything since it usually doesn't.

Any way to do this, or is this like Google+ on another level where old material can't be deleted, but edited?

I'm not saying that I'm wanting to abandon the question. I simply want the 6R8 coil nonsense put to rest in the best way possible. Hiding it.

Hey Nick, sorry about that. Looks like there was a bug with all versions of IE which caused the delete post and delete comment javascript not to work. Testing a fix right now and will be releasing it shortly. Thanks for the heads up!

I use FF ESR on Win7 Pro. I don't think my version of the OS matters, but I'll provide it for reference. Browser version is 31.6.0

Thanks for the info. I just released the fix @Nick. Can you take a look and see if you can now delete one of your posts?

by

Nope. Still being troublesome on this setup. I'll try on my X61. This runs FF and Linux.

by

Nope. Doesn't even work on the X61 with Linux.

You should be able to delete your own answers. If you can't, that's a bug and we'll get going on it.

In this case, since you want to replace the answer it seems like it would make sense to just edit the post, remove the content you don't like anymore, and replace it with the new information.

That's completely up to you, of course.

I edited the existing answer since it didn't want to delete. There's definitely a bug. Wasn't worth fighting it to get a clean slate.
