Replacing DVD drive ... do I need Laser?

My Wii Console's (RVL-001) optical drive will no longer read ANY disks (it still spins and ejects). I planned to purchase the iFixit Wii DVD Drive (IF207-001-1) - BUT - I also see the Drive Lens (IF207-016-1). How can I distinguish which repair part should work? (Does the DVD kit INCLUDE the Lens? ... if yes, then that solves either cause).

Hi there!

The DVD Drive Kit or Part Only contains the lens you need as well. The Kit Option comes with the necessary tools for completing the repair.
