Loss of comments when question is migrated

I've noticed that we lose comments when a question is migrated either from or to Meta. This just happened on a question I asked about EveryMac and Dan had made a very nice comment that was germane. Can we stop that? We are getting noticed, the answer was from the creator of EveryMac, Brock Kyle. Some of this conversation was by email to Dan and myself, that's how I knew who it was.
