Release Notes: May 1st, 2016
Features
- A prereq guide can now be added to another guide multiple times. Because sharing is caring.
- It’s my package and I want it now! We extended our daily shipping cut off time from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM (PDT) so that we can get your package delivered sooner.
- You can track all of your shipments in your Order History page.
- Everyone needs a little space. So we fixed spacing issues on the mobile version of several pages—including the edit profile page and device pages.
- We've got gadgets and gizmos aplenty. So we added these new devices—including Apple iPad Pro 12.9", Apple iPad Pro 9.7", and Samsung Galaxy S7—to the Smartphone and Tablet Repairability Index pages.
- So many guides, such little time. We added a description of each type of guide to the guide creator page. Now, selecting the correct guide description is a quick breeze. Much like a zephyr.
- Added the ability to translate guide step titles.
- Added the ability to import any parts listed in a prereq when adding that prereq to another guide.
- Let's get down to business—to clean the pages. We cleaned up the styling of the business edit pages in iFixit Pro, making them easier to navigate.
Bugs
- Fixed a bug in which guide step images weren't showing up in the Guide History or in the Patrol entries for pending edits.
- Fixed a bug in which steps on a guide embed were only displayed in English. Embeds now display guide steps in the viewer's chosen language, so long as a translation exists in that language. Who needs Rosetta Stone with that kind of functionality?
- Fixed a bug that made it impossible to delete lines of text from guide steps. Because writing in stone is so a thousand years ago.
- Fixed a small bug that was preventing guide difficult from being properly translated.
- Made videos on wiki pages responsive so that they display properly on all screen sizes and devices. Snapchat ain’t got nothing on us.
- Fixed a bug in which the ability to subscribe to or unsubscribe from guide comments using the the 'watch' button was lost.
- Added word breaks to comments so that long words will not overflow the page. Because reading between the lines is actually pretty hard.
- Drop it like it's hot—when it's on your mobile device. Improved the functionality of dropdown menus when viewed from mobile devices, like smartphones or tablets.
Is this a worthwhile discussion?
