Is it possible to change my flag?
I'm a Canadian and as such would like to fly my own flag , the one with the red maple leaf , on my profile on the top of the page . There are a few of us here and it would be nice to have our flag there instead of yours. Just thinking it would be nice.
BTW the flag I'm talking about is the one for language
Is this a good question?

@jimfixer oh brother. Canadian eh? Language? Require translations? LOL from an expat. I always wondered if ifixit could somehow add it to their code about adding flags to the users icon. I think it would be great to see where people are from. I bet we have an interesting mix on here......

Hmm. Interesting request! It's something we could pass on to the dev team as a feature request, but I can't make any promises they'd be able to implement it. It would probably require adding new language options in the dropdown that would leave everything in English but allow you to select the Canadian flag (and also the British flag, since we don't want to leave anyone out). I'm not sure if that's something they want to do, in case it might confuse people or make people on the store pages think that the prices listed are in British pounds or Canadian dollars. I can definitely pass the message on to the team, though.

I understand there could be issue with this and and would not want to impose . Just wanted you to know I'm proud of my flag the way you are of yours and notice yours there every time I log in and think to myself wouldn't it be nice . and technically there is a difference in old English to new English . We tend to like to keep the u in things like colour , and flavour . Generally, words with Greek roots end in -ize while those with Latin roots end in -ise. eg. realize, paralyze. American English tends to standardize on -ize. we also use the words theatre and centre were you use theater and center however we do use center when describing the middle of something

We could also have a diagonally split flag. Half Canadian and half US for all the Democratic (soon be expatriates) that have vowed to move to Canada after our presidential election. I told you @jimfixer you should build that wall ;-) The Canadian immigration site crashed after the election because of to much traffic.
Also maybe a U.N. flag for all the counties who we don't a flag icon for like Texas.

@jimfixer @mayer patriotism is a great thing for anyone. I'd like a triple one please German/Canadian/USA :-)) We should not forget @jayeff and @benjamen50 and their flag as well:-) Anyhow as a simple solution, how about the way the technical writing student have their school Icons? Why not create something like that for all the different nations?
