Requesting some category cleanup

While going through /Contribute, I accidentally created a couple problems I can't solve with my permission levels:

  1. I accidentally created https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Foo , which needs to be deleted.
  2. https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Bionaire_M... should be categorized under https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Fan

It's also worth noting that it takes a bit of effort to find out how to put a device in another category, and when you do get there, the instructions only work for people with elevated privileges - but the help documentation doesn't mention that. If the recommended approach is to post a question on Meta asking for recategorization, it'd be helpful if the user-facing documentation said that.

Good input — you're right.

On your three points:

  1. You didn't actually create Foo (I did, and deleted it long ago), so I'm not sure what you're seeing there.
  2. That device didn't actually exist yet, so I went ahead and created it and categorized it under Fan — that was the right call!
  3. We regularly go through and categorize devices for the community, so you don't actually need to request it on Meta — although this certainly speeds the process up and we don't mind! What we should do is show a 'pending categorization' label to make it clear that we're going to get to it at some point. And then update the docs to explain the process! Maybe @sam can work on that.
