How to fit the bits into the 150 mm Flex Extension?

We just got the 64-bit driver kit, which is great. The problem is that the bits don't stay in the Flex Extension. They just fall right out. Is this a defect with our particular Flex Extension, or is there some trick that I'm missing?

Thanks!

@eliz_p , E Papazian, This is ifixit volunteer portion of the site where we answer repair questions on various devices, we do not handle the sale of parts or tools. The kit write up reads Ergonomic Aluminum Handle provides plenty of torque and grip with swivel cap and ((magnetized bit holder)). So with the handle being magnetized to hold the bits, I would presume the extension should be. I will post a link where you can make inquiry at the parts store. Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

The 150mm Flex Extension is not actually magnetized but rather requires a small amount of downward force to fully seat the bit into place. You should hear a slight click once this happens. To remove the bit, simply pull it up and away from the Flex Extension and it will come out.

I hope this helps!

Read this and went and got my kit to see if its so and my sole complaint about the kit is no more I like the extention for working on server blades but hated the fact I kept dropping the bits takes a little force but this is gonna make it a lot easier.Really glad I read this or probably would have never figured this one out
