Tima: Posted an answer November 2016. Got 7 upvotes and 5 comments. They’ve never answered anything else, and there’s nothing spammny on their profile, so I'm not alarmed yet....

Megha Bhalla: Commented with “I have this problem too” to the question asked by Sentil (below) in May of last year with no other activity.

Sentil: Asked a question in 2014 with no other activity.

So I can only assume that Sentil's question got 20 upvotes over the course of three years because the device and problem is popular wherever they're from.

I also checked out some of the other users on Sentil's question and didn't see anything too suspicious.

Let me know if you think I missed something, but I'm not going to say it's a voting ring just yet. BUT I will keep an eye out on juuust in case it does turns spammy. If it does, I'll let you say I told you so.

I think to qualify as a "voting ring" users need to be gaining rep for some nefarious purpose. If you click on their profile and they have no other activity besides these highly upvoted posts, I think it's just an issue of viral content, and not malicious upvoting. Plus over the years those upvotes do add up just in general.

on Sentil's, I moved about 15-20 "me too's" to comments this morning. All seemingly from Indian user names. I have seldom seen 20 up votes on a lone question. Also an inordinate amount include personal email addresses. The whole thing smells very fishy to me. With curry sauce included.

Or maybe I just need a vacation and get away for a while. I seem to be getting surly.

Yep, after I gave it some thought, Mike was right. Time for a Sabbatical . See ya'll later.

@mayer brother sabbatical is over! Time to go to work and fix something. BTW nothing wrong with curry.....;-)

It looks like Google ranks that answer as the first result if you search for "sony cyber shot turn the power off and on again."
