In this instance we followed what was the common name, Everymac still calls it the Retina display MacBook. Unfortunately regardless of what we name it, i think it will be very hard to search for unless you also include the year? If this is a real struggle we can look into changing the name.

Also @theimedic can you tell me about the search issues? You should be able to filter by device or guide rather than part or tool?

Ok, I edited my post, so maybe that helps? If not. I'll come back to this question and see if I can be more clear?

Okay, I think I'm beginning to see. I pretty exclusively use the desktop site, so the mobile experience is pretty new on me! On desktop we have a Store search and a Site search, which operate pretty separately and serve different results according to which search you're in. The mobile version seems to switch things up a bit. If you tap the "Refine" menu, I think it gets a little more straightforward? /More like the desktop site, you'll get suggested devices and guides, rather than store sections. You can also tap "All" to refine to specifically guides, or what have you.

That said, our search is definitely lacking, when you type "Retina Mac Book" with the space, it doesn't seem to be smart enough to pull up MacBook retina anything, unless you open that refine menu, which is lame and confusing. We may need to take a look at the "Refine" UI

Is that about the shape of the issue? If we should open a new Meta post for a clearer discussion we can!

If you're not searching as retina Mac book

I'm not real happy about what I'm finding when searching as per the past few weeks? I should have said something earlier. But it seems a lot closer geared towards selling things. Which I realize iFixit needs to make money and all

Ok, here's what I see. Maybe it wasn't different, but I swear it was

And it's annoying, especially when you scroll down. I suppose it could be frustrating to someone who just wants to buy something, and doesn't know how else to search? To me it would be easier if you could see the item, exactly what you want, then go in and either find a guide and parts or vice versa. That's just me, and I think it could help everyone. People know, yes this is it, and there a link to buying it. Which would help sales? Also I have trouble finding odd guides, for less asked device questions

As far as I can tell this is the only machine that uses "retina" as the first word in a machine name. It should start as MacBook.

As for your searching, you really need to be much more specific. The way your question is stated is so vague as to be unanswerable.

@mayer it wasn't like that until recently. It would come up as devices and guides. Now it's a long list of stuff to buy. They should go back to the way it was, with current links in there how to buy it. I noticed that as well. Old prices.

1. This is exactly what you want

2. This is how to fix it

3. This is exactly how much it costs

On the destop that list is on the side. Mobile format just has that on the top, is all.
