The winds of change are blowing...

After nearly 7 years of working behind the scenes but also being involved in the community as well, I'm leaving iFixit as my place of employment.

I've seen the iFixit community grow and mature into the awesome and flourishing group of people that it is now, and it's awesome to see and know that it will be left in good hands.

I've loved working with each of you, despite some struggles that you may have experienced with our parts, I hope that my services have been helpful at least in some capacity.

I plan on sticking around in the community , but my roles and influence with iFixit will be greatly diminished.

It's definitely a bittersweet time for me, but I am are excited about my new adventure in Texas with my wife and daughter. @mayer @oldturkey03, we are coming for you. ;)

I'm actually a little sad to be missing your visit later this year @mayer.

Thanks for being awesome all of you, and keep up the good fight!

@kaykay you must accept the truth! The whole truth, and nothing but the truth! It's ugly I know. :'(

Austin area, so not quite in your neck of the woods, but a lot closer than SLO.

by

right around 380 miles. A little closer than going to see Oldturkey 390

much better than going to see my friend in Brownsville 702 miles

But SLO is 1300 miles for me 1635 from Austin

But growing up in Portales, you got used to distances. I have several customers from there

by

380? That's a bit more than from here to chicago. About 4 1/2 hours.

@mike I do wish you the best of luck with your next adventure, whatever it may be. I am certain that with your knowledge and experience you are going to be successful. I know it is tough to move around with family but in the long run it usually works out. Holler if you need anything, bit of 100 miles from me to Austin is no issue . You know where to find us.....

Got any ideas on a everyday guides like your adding images to existing questions? Do you think a "How to pose a proper question and response" guide would be good?

by

@pccheese I told you this week about what guide to write.

by

@mayer I don't understand the purpose of that guide. People most often put their model in their question, and why would they need to look it up if they have their Mac with the model number on it? I simply don't know enough about Macs to do something like that, even with the info you gave me. I don't know the simplest functions of the OS, or anything else about them. I can't even answer the questions asking for hard drives, because I wouldn't know if the thermal sensor would be messed up.
