Release Notes: May / June
New Features
• We added a toggle switch on Category pages so you can select if you’d like to see guides in every available language—or just see guides in a single language. Because choices are good and “toggle” is a fun word to say.
• We added a brand new page that features our new-and-improved iFixit screen and battery kits for iPhones. Check it out at https://www.ifixit.com/Kits
• You can now preview the items in your cart by clicking the cart icon in the top left corner. Pretty slick, right?
Site Improvements
• When viewing the history of a guide introduction, you can now see any changes that have been made to embedded content.
• When an upload fails on a guide or a wiki, we now respond with a sensible error message instead of the nonsensical one we had before. Sorry about that.
• In order to improve clarity for moderators, the 'Not an answer' option on Answers was renamed to 'Remove as duplicate or off-topic.' This option was also added to comments.
• For returning customers, the estimated shipping displayed on the cart page will now reflect the shipping method that the customer previously selected.
Bug Fixes
• Fixed a bug where logging in from a product page with a guide embed redirected the user to the guide embed rather than the product.
• Fixed a bug where image zoom on product images wasn’t working on desktop view in IE 11. You can now zoom to your heart’s content.
• Fixed a bug where only a partial product name was displayed for items in your cart.
Is this a worthwhile discussion?
