New Phishing Phone Scam - Apple Inc

I've gotten three calls with the caller ID Apple Inc and a number from an Apple Store in Plano, TX (972-202-5820. The recorded message tells me I have a security breach in my iCloud account. They give a call back number of 833-501-4728.

There is also an option to talk directly with an agent. On the second call I opted for the agent. I get an asian accented person with a boiler room background noise. Third call was heavily accented Indian in a boiler room. I tried to ask to be removed from their call list and they just hang up. They knew my name.

On the first call I contacted Apple directly @ 800MYAPPLE.

Apple confirmed that this is a phishing scam.

They have called me three times this morning

UPDATE

Looks like this has been around for a few months:

I have a nice collection of iCloud phishing emails in my junk mail. Want me to phish one for you?

I always send those to apple and my carrier. It actually helps reduce them because they have their own phishing filters.

If you get these on an iDevice via iMessages, Apple will definitely take care of it.

I think this is an old scam, but we need to keep spreading the words about them to our family and colleagues. A little Google search brought me to http://www.whycall.me/858-208-4064.html . People have reported about similar scams even since last year. Beware of such scams, folks. These scammers are very persistent doing their jobs.
