The remove as duplicate/off topic for comments deducts 100 rep points

Did you design it this way? I thought it was supposed to be alternative to remove as spam/offensive. Anyway, this is the third time it's been used on me now and all times it deducted rep.

Is this a good question?

George, if you know of any other issues like this please speak up so we can go over them next week at the conference. That deduct was most likely caused by me cleaning up the joint, sorry if I caused it. I have done that a lot this week (clean up)

There are some others, but they don't come to mind right now.

The most I think I've lost is points from the question on changing the iPhone serial number by telling the owner about ethics. I didn't lose enough to take notice, so it's not something I'm that worried about. I can probably make the points back relatively quickly, seeing as I probably only lost about ~36 points (3 upvotes).

This should be fixed now! Moving forward, marking something as duplicate or off topic will not deduct any rep from the author.

We're working on a solution to restore rep that shouldn't have been deducted.

I agree, This should not cause point deductions. @kaykay please note this for the conference.

I don't believe this is intended behavior, I'm looking into it.
