Hey please take down @terryebaszler, he complained his "T" key didn't work but used the "T" key in his forum post.

@hampter let's see what's going on there. Got a link to the entry? Found it :-) and answered it. Not enough there to warrant any deletion or the ban hammer. The Question could have been posted by using a different device. Spam is usually something malignant and deceitful and to promote something that just does not belong (or self promote). I don't think that this is the case here. Of course, always be watchful and always voice your suspicion. Everybody appreciates that since we have 0 tolerance for this on here. Thanks @hampter!

...someone should probably deal with 2081814. Preferably quickly, they're showing up as rank 8 under https://www.ifixit.com/Badge/Hawkeye

@darthmango thank you so much for finding this.

@evanga2so No problem. Any idea how they managed to earn patrolling-based badges despite never gaining any reputation?

@darthmango @krisrodriguez and I are looking into it.

@darthmango from what we can see all of those badges were awarded to spam accounts in 2018 and earlier. It seems like it is no longer the case. We think the badge was not working correctly but it was fixed. It is still definitely worth keeping an eye on that badge and other badge categories for older spam though. Thanks again for making the time and effort to find this! It is an important find.

I found a lot of new and old spam in the autobiography badge. Those spam accounts earned the badge (upload a profile pic and write a bio) but they never made comments or guides that would be found easily when reviewing new pages. There are spam accounts that just put a spam link on their profile but don't do anything else.

@evanga2so I had a look through the level 1 badge leaderboards and found another one: 2353689
Came across some dormant spammers too: 1933944, 1941574, 2061546, 2082820

@darthmango thank you! It seems like some of the badges are a hidden trove of long forgotten spam.

Not spam, but it's def off topic at least. I've flagged it for duplicate or off topic to try and spare the points penalty, but this is one I'm unsure is worth trying too much.
I've deleted his bogus question, but his account is too old for me to ban.

Another potential ChatGPT situation.

^This is why I'm leery. It's not like the Epson purge waste isn't famously known, but to note something me and the others have openly documented to absolutely avoid is suspicious.
