Title:

Congratulations to Mr. Oldturkey03

Text:

It’s a very rare breed of person that dedicates their life to helping other people. Mike is that kind of person.

Mike—better known as Oldturkey03 in the iFixit community— has been absolutely indispensable helping moderate and answer questions. The scale of his reach is pretty phenomenal. Each month, we send everyone an email that includes rough stats on how useful their contributions are. Mike’s email is pretty impressive:

That’s 1,800,000 people that have used his repair information in the last month! It’s absolutely astounding that one person can have that much influence.

Here's a few more fun articles about Mike:

Last year, Mike disappeared from iFixit for a few weeks to help with hurricane relief in Texas—he was helping everyone that we didn’t have time to! But of course, we didn’t want our online community to suffer while he was out. So we all banded together and stepped into his shoes for a little while, and it was a lot of work!

If you really want to get a feel for what drives Mike, you gotta watch this video we shot of Mike and Dan and Mayer last fall.

So congratulations on hitting 500k. You earned every single one of those points.

But more importantly, thank you for pitching in. And thank you for helping us fix the world, one thing at a time.
