Title:

Concerns about Terms and Conditions When Updating

Text:

I had made an edit to the product page that included a notice to readers, cautioning them against the consequences of using Bose's updater software. I realize I'm a little different than many people in that I read terms and conditions, privacy policies, etc., (and I know most people don't care about that stuff). I thought the [link|https://www.ifixit.com/Wiki/History/Bose_QuietComfort_45_Troubleshooting?revidA=1205402&revidB=1382402|note|new_window=true] was important to include because I think there is an argument that accepting those terms and conditions is the legal equivalent of giving up a sense of ownership over products we've purchased, and allowing that seems contrary to what iFixIt is all about. Anyways, I just thought this was an important discussion to have, and I didn't know where else to start it.
