Concerns about Terms and Conditions When Updating

I had made an edit to the product page that included a notice to readers, cautioning them against the consequences of using Bose's updater software. I realize I'm a little different than many people in that I read terms and conditions, privacy policies, etc., (and I know most people don't care about that stuff). I thought the note was important to include because I think there is an argument that accepting those terms and conditions is the legal equivalent of giving up a sense of ownership over products we've purchased, and allowing that seems contrary to what iFixIt is all about. Anyways, I just thought this was an important discussion to have, and I didn't know where else to start it.

@justincberger ,

Thanks for flagging this. I approved your edit earlier, so I’m not sure why it ended up getting deleted—that definitely shouldn’t have happened.

I completely understand that you’re just trying to help folks out, and that kind of information is genuinely valuable. We absolutely wouldn’t want to suppress it.

I’m really sorry for the hassle—but would you mind trying to add the information again? If it gets flagged, I’ll manually approve it right away.

Let me know.
