What are the chances glass digitizers will be produced for Switch?

I saw that third-party digitizers are becoming available, which is great news considering how easily the Switch's plastic screen cover gets scratched.

For those who are familiar with the aftermarket parts scene: What's the likelihood a parts maker will produce a Switch digitizer made from tempered glass, similar to the popular Amfilm screen protector, instead of plastic? The screen protectors are decent but not the most elegant solution, and I would love to get rid of the plastic layer completely and just put a nice sheer glass layer over the screen, so I'm curious if you all expect to see something like that coming out of Asia?

I don't think so. The main market for the Switch is kids, and glass on a game console that's marketed towards kids and is also carried by them makes it very likely the screen will break.

With that being said, Nintendo should have used laminated glass. The idea here is the laminated glass keeps the shards intact so the most that happens is the touch screen looks bad but may scratch the LCD if any of the glass falls into the unit. That would be the only viable way to use glass on the Switch.
