Yes! Personal information of any sort should not be posted in questions or answers! The only place would be their info card. This makes it harder for someone to scrub for this data.

In addition I flush system S/N's but I do this after I've ID'd the system and post that.

You need to be careful you are not altering the point of the comment (thats also true in a questions too). Often I convert it to an update to a post if the OP was adding new info.

I also convert multiple comments which are chained back to back were it should be in one comment. You also don't want to make it so the thread of the dialog is not lost.

To do any of this you need to convert it to a answer then make the needed change and then push it back as a comment.

But voting still needs to happen. no one would say those comments should become answers.
