Do I need kapton tape if...

Do I need kapton tape if I bought the digitizer repair kit and tools from ifixit. The tape is listed in the repair guide in step 43 or does the new digitizer have it already on it and I'm good to go? The tape is not listed in the things needed at the start of the guide. The original digitizer was shattered and came off in a piece so the foam from that is not an option. Just opened the new digitizer package and there is no foam and I don't see any tape but new to ipad repair so not sure what kapton tape looks like on.
