A bit more on iOS 11.3 breaking things

Motherboard just posted this great vid: The iOS 11.3 update broke iPhones that have some aftermarket touchscreens.

Funny that they chose this particular video. One point of note: Face ID being disabled after a complete display assembly swap has been known since November. So that's much ado about nothing IMO. It works just fine if you transfer over the sensor assembly, which includes the flood illuminator (part of the Face ID hardware). Seems very similar to how Touch ID is set up. In other words, it's most likely a feature, not a bug, and very simple to work around.
