December 13th, 2010 Release Notes

Alright, so this was a very large, yet very small release. Why the contradiction you ask? Simple my dear users, we finally published our official API.

We haven't made a blog post to explain all of the awesome stuff we are doing with it, but we did announce our first application to use it, the iFixit JavaScript Embed.

I personally am very excited about this, because it is been a project I've been working on for a very long time. You can go to any guide on iFixit or Make: Projects now and click the embed link to get a nice embeddable guide for your website. An example of how this might look if you were to stumble across it on the internet or if you downloaded Gizmodo's HTML and edited it with your own story:

So go check out the embed on our guides. If you want to look at the code we are telling you to put in your page, check out the GitHub Project. While you're at GitHub, check out our profile page, you may see another API app which is coming down the pipeline that could interest the iPad owners among you.

Finally, I want to apologize for the tardiness of this post. The reason this post was a little late is because our holiday party was last night. Here is a photo of some of our awesome employees:

P.S. we also fixed a decent amount of bugs and sped things up. If anything looks broken or working incorrectly please make a post here on meta. Thanks!
