What is the difference between regular and "choice" LCD assemblies offered on the iFixit online store?

Hey Eric,

iFixit sells two types of displays:

The first type, designated as “Choice” in our store, is a display with an OEM LCD. While the LCD is made by an OEM, the small parts and connectors are aftermarket, so this display is officially called a “hybrid” display.

The second type, which is the standard option in our store, is an aftermarket display. It is made to the same specifications as an OEM LCD, but was manufactured by a third party, not by an OEM.

iFixit offers a lifetime warranty on both types of displays. Additionally, both options go through the exact same quality control process. The return/defect rate is very similar across both types of display. We are confident that both options are a very high quality, which is why we're willing to offer a lifetime warranty.
