I recently purchased a HDD for my Xbox one s. I replaced it with my old one and it is not working. The site says they come prepared formatted for the one s. Do I need to do anything else with the hdd for it to work?

If the Drive is formatted it can PROBABLY delete some of the “main files” for it to work.

So you're saying it's possible that it's missing files? I'm sorry I'm not very tech savy.
Possibly, because some products put "Special files" in order to work. Try and go to a Microsoft Store and check the Hard Drive
