Why is there no teardown of this device yet?

We've got one, and it's generally great, but:

  • It's got no external screws, and after a fall or two the power socket broke off and rattles aroumd… but how to get in and fix it?
  • C'mon, magic (expensive) thing! How does it work inside, is it like a car turbo, or an axial fan, or what?
  • It's in iFixit's store: [product|IF145-332-2] Surely it should fare well on the repairability scale?

Hi Patrick! Thanks for the idea—our teardown team is crazy busy, we’re a really small team serving a lot of users. We tend to prioritize devices that are in the highest circulation (and hence help to keep the most devices out of landfills). The cool thing is that iFixit is a community site—so you can post a teardown yourself! We’d love to see you dive in and explore the device, how it works, and see how fixable it is.
