Why am I being logged out when I have not logged myself out?

Seems like crap has hit the fan for iFixit this week. Here’s another potential issue for your collection.

Before I was banned this never happened on my old account, just FYI

Seems like overnight iFixit automatically logs me out from both Meta and the Answers Forum. I come back to my devices in the morning and see myself logged out. It’s kinda a nuisance because I use a very long email address for this account ( I wish I could use the email I had for my old account on this one…) and it just isn’t very fun to have to type it out every time now. Is there a way to disable this or is this yet another bug?

Hi Aaron, unfortunately we haven’t heard any other reports about this issue, and while it’s inconvenient, it isn’t blocking your access to the site, just slowing you down. I’d suggest a password manager that can auto-fill account information if you struggle to type out the address.

I’d also like to remind you that we’re a small team dealing with a lot more than just meta and the day-to-day site operations. I’d really appreciate if you stick to reporting site-wide issues that could affect many users, ie: the inability to post comments. If the issue is merely a personal inconvenience I’d recommend you try to sort it out on your own.

As you Answerers know, it’s a lot of effort even just to read and research a question, even if there is an easy answer!

Aaron, you can use a keyboard shortcut to fill in your email address, https://www.imore.com/how-use-text-short...

@sam maybe you two could meet each other in the middle? sam can remove the email from the old account, and then @ajcooke01v2 can have his old email! sounds like a win-win to me!
