Battery not recognized after replacing "damaged" battery

I just replaced the battery of a MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 using the tutorial and kit from iFixIt. The replacing itself went without issues, I was able to remove the old battery and connect the new one with the tutorial, however, the new battery doesn’t seem to be recognized by the Mac, after I turned it on there was an X inside the battery icon. The laptop has been turned on and plugged in for a while now but the battery is still not recognized.

Answer this question I have this problem too

According to the [invalid guide link], you need to calibrate your battery before using it by allowing it to drain overnight, then charging it to 100% and draining it again until your MacBook Pro shuts down automatically. Then you can charge it again and use it normally, However since it’s not being recognized at all, you should reset your MacBook Pro’s SMC (Also found on the iFixit Guide). You can learn how to do this here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201295

Good luck!

I already tried this and it didn't solve the problem. The X in the battery continues after resetting the SMC
