Does Essential Electronics Toolkit have Y00 bit to take joycon apart?

The joycon repair kit (IF378-015-3 ) has the Y00 bit as part of 4mm precision bits. I am looking for something that could be used for a phone repair in future.

Essential Electronics Toolkit seems to be more generic and mentions 4mm precision bits but in the details says Y000, not Y00 bit.

To compound the confusion, 4 mm Screwdriver Bit listing only shows a picture of Y0 and not Y00 or Y000. So, will Essential Electronics Toolkit work to take the joycons apart?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @docrex,

I just removed (and added) a screw to one of my JoyCons using both a Y00 and a Y000 bit from our toolkits. The Y000 worked but definitely felt a little off–you’d need to be careful that you don’t accidentally strip your screws if you go that route.

As for the 4mm Screwdriver Bit Listing, are you talking about the individual bits for sale? You can select any of the Y0, Y00, or Y000.

I hope this answers your questions! Let me know if you have more or if I missed anything.

Thanks @amber. I saw Moray kit had 4 bits from Y000 to Y1 so ordered that. Hopefully it’d work as well.

You're welcome! The Moray Kit is a great choice. You'll be able to fix your JoyCons and phone! I'll be using mine this week to fix the drift on my JoyCons. Thanks Nintendo.
