Remove save button when creating a guide

Hi, I am pretty new to iFixit. I used some guides already, and started to write my own ones too.

I really love the idea of making an open source great documentation of fixing things.

However, when I create a Guide, I really often run in the problem of switching between steps without hitting the save button. Of course the popup window appears, if I am sure I want to leave the page without saving, so the changes do not get lost, but it would be great, if it could be saved automatically on a step change.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hello @bangobejla,
This is a great suggestion–I’ve ran into this issue myself. I’ll send this feedback to our team to see if there’s something that should be changed in this process.

I think the buttons and popup are a failsafe for people who end up in the ‘edit’ section of the guides but are confused. Since our site is a Wiki, anyone can open any device and change (or suggest) content. Sometimes people end up there and think they’re searching but the prompt tells them “You’re going to change something, is that what you meant to do?”

Thank you for your contributions to our site! Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help your guide creation go more smoothly.
