OK, we have an iFixit challenge from NASA

It would be fun to pickup this gauntlet and make a PR show on how we salvage gear vs toss it aside!

NASA seeks a new ride for astronauts to the Artemis launch pad

So are we up to the challenge as a group?

As Ars even stated the Airstream could be retrofitted! I’m sure we might even find an old one to work off of. You have the talent in SLO with the university.

At least post a response to the RFP Artemis Crew Transportation Vehicle

@danj let's get to it. You know this should be an iFixit group project. Worldwide participation through virtual cooperation. For the chassis, only recycled materials should be used with a minimum of 75% Ocean recovered plastics. AC induction motors for the drive train in honor of Nicola Tesla. The only Apple parts to be used are the aluminum bodies after having been melted down.

Hi @oldturkey03 and @danj ! We've talked about this at length in different parts of iFixit and this project looks AMAZING. It's a massive commitment and while we can't take lead we'd love to help any way we can if either of you take charge!

lets utilize the current vehicle. Of course It would need a total revamp to meet the criteria for equipment and crew. Although, it should be a representation of our ever evolving space programs. The RV need to be all electric using tesla engineering. The vehicle should be completely automated and self driven by artificial intelligence. To automate the amenities for the crew Open-Source Microcontrollers should be considered to allow the individual people a fair chance of being part of history.
