Why are parts and adhesive 5€ more expensive than full fix kits?

Why are parts only 5€ chaper than full fix kits? I've seen this multiple times now, where it would be cheaper to buy the fix kit instead of buying the seperate parts needed without the tools. I already have all the tools needed, but I also don't want to pay 5€ more because I still need the adhesive but end up with like 30€ "less value".

Hi there @sedorr!

We hear you! This is more a technical limitation than anything else. Almost all our adhesive is priced to be the same if not cheaper than what we charge for the Fix Kit option. In this specific case, you need two sets of adhesive which makes it more expensive.

We'd love to be able to discount the adhesive when the part is purchased alongside it. That's something we plan to do in the future but don't have the ability to yet.

We're also working on including the adhesive in Part Only options. We're just not there quite yet, either.

The lack of adhesive is why I need fix kits despite owning the tools already. I had to get one for my 6a but needed the iOpener to deal with the adhesive anyway. If I had it it’s still not a great situation where a fix kit is overall cheaper.

It’s still quite expensive considering I can get that part from mobilepartsshop for half the price. Even if you don’t care about that, you’re selling to private customers after all, it still feels kind of like you’re making a loss when you pay only 5€ less and „miss out“ on perceived 20-30€ of tools. Just the opener alone is 12€ after all.
