How about localising purchase links in parts wikis

This is just an idea, but maybe you could give the option to localise part supplier links in parts/tool wikis when translating them. Currently pretty much all links lead to us-based suppliers that users not from America would have to pay a pretty hefty mark-up for, should they want to import them, even though there might be a "local option" available.

Or you could create a list that can be filled out on initial wiki creation that serves the link for the ifixit store locale selected, like you do with ifixit devices.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I second this idea, for example, it would be helpful for the DigiKey parts link in the https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/PlayStation... guide to change to RS Components links when people are in non-US countries. I think the links change should be tied to the country the user chooses and not the language they choose.

Great suggestion! I'll pass this along to @sandrahiller and @claire17.

Thank you @sedorr, I'll add that to our list!

The thing is in the US if I need to import a part like I did to mod my Sony a5000, NBD; we got a solid pre-tax exemption so I can even bring the $54 FOTODIOX LT mount in from the UK duty-free :-). However, I realize a lot of countries do not have the luxury of buying from the UK as I did for the aftermarket mount.

As far as Customs is concerned, I just brought in camera parts.
