Is there any way to directly modify the Table of Contents in wikis?

Hello.

I'm a relatively inexperienced editor putting together a wiki. I've found great resources in iFixit's own reference wikis, but I've found little information on this particular front.

While I know that the Table of Contents is automatically populated and scaled based on the content and formatting of the main body of a given wiki, I was wondering if there were more direct control options available to editors for adjustments. Things like collapsing sections, font size, or color come to mind. It seems unlikely, but any information that might give me a bit more leverage would be appreciated.
