Feedback on answer(s)

Hi guys, it's me, shingle. I do my best to answer questions in the Answers forum, but sometimes I feel like I don't phrase it so that it's easy enough to understand, or that it's unclear, or that there's something else wrong. Do you think I handled this answer well? What could I have done better?

I'm open to simple yes/no's as well as criticism/feedback, since I'm really trying to improve not just my ability to repair things, but also my ability to help others repair them.
