The outcome of my repair
I'm not sure if this really belongs here, but I just wanted to share this.
My younger sister's iPhone 13 display stopped working one day. just poof.
She asks me to replace it, and so I do, I use the iPhone 13 w/o tools LCD kit you sell, and I get to it. I follow the guide closely, even the parts most probably don't bother with, (at least, in past repairs I hadn't) putting a weight on top of the display for a few hours, as well as replacing the adhesive by painstakingly carving out all the old adhesive. (It did not come out in one piece)
Later, I give her the phone, and the first thing she complains about is some sort of ghosting (??) when touching the screen, like a white spot. I'm like, whatever, it's aftermarket, it is what it is. It doesn't really leave me feeling good though.
The next day I find she left her phone behind, and I pick it up to inspect it - there is a massive crack through the display I replaced not 24 hours ago.
I don't really get it. I thought I did everything right.
I know there is a warranty, but it just seems like a lot of effort to try to go through with this entire process again.
Does this happen a lot?
Would I have the same experience buying some crap amazon one? A friend that owns a repair shop says so, which to me is heartbreaking but I suppose I'd rather give my money to a company I care about.
Is this a good question?
