Confused - what did I do wrong here?

I posted an answer in here just now and it immediately got deleted. Would someone please explain why? Should I have posted it in the September discussion instead?

Hi!

You did nothing wrong! The only problem is that your profile here on Meta is separate from your profile on the main iFixit forum, therefore you right now have only a reputation of 1 here on Meta. iRobot, who also servers as a spam filter, is very sensitive to links coming from low-reputation accounts, which right now is your meta account, and thereby marks it as spam.

If you check your inbox for the mail you have associated with your iFixit account, you should find an email with the title "Your answer was marked as spam." from iFixit. Write a reply to that email (can be a super short reply), then an admin from iFixit will review and remove the spam tag from your answer, as well as reverse any lost reputation from the automatic removal.

You can see among the passed moderations here on Meta that iRobot occasionally removes answers by marking them as spam.

Respond to the email and all will be well, then it is just to build up some reputation here on Meta too and everything will be solved :)

Good luck

Yeah, I answered the email. The reason I only have 1 reputation is because iRobot removed my post... will I get my reputation back if the admins put back my post?
