How do I categorize?

The device type for "Kindle 2" is already in place, there are 4 "Kindle 2" questions, and when I click on the "Add categorization" link, it sends me to the edit page for "Kindle 2".

Where I am supposed to do what exactly?

.

It seems to me that the above events should be taking me to the edit page for "Community Hardware Support", aka /Answers/Devices, where I could either add it to an existing category, or add a new category.

I would create a new category for "E-book Reader" if I knew how.

Thanks!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

The "needs catagorization" flag on the wiki pages doesn't go away until you actually save the wiki even if you have added it to a category. It's on my que of things to fix but it's a low priority.

At the top right of the device edit page, there's a space to enter Area Links. You enter there whatever categories that item belongs under. I set this one to E-book Reader.

Brings up another important question, a while ago there was something on naming conventions, but how about ebooks? I personally prefer eBook, and it is more widesprea (like eInk), but some people say EBook, ebook, etc., I personally dispise E-book as it reminds me of people who say I-pod (argh!)

It's funny you mention that. When I was posting this, I asked some of the other people in the office what the convention was on that. I feel like eBook is really only popular because iTunes and iPod and iMac are. But iMac etc are trademarks. E-Book is not. Wikipedia has E-Book as the title, so we go with that. That said, wikipedia also lists several other variations, including eBook. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-book

I don't really see it that way, it's related though for the same reasons- it's cleaner. As I said "eInk, ePaper, eReader etc." And check this quick google trends search I did, looks like ebook is more popular than e-book (no way to check case unfortunately.

Also it's generated minor talk on the talk page.
