Changes to reputation earned from guides

Just as on Answers, there has long been a cap of 200 reputation that a user can earn per day from Guides. We believe this cap is important, as it serves to normalize the amount of Reputation earned by our most active users.

However, we don't think it's fair that some users (mainly our own tech writers) have received so much reputation from just a few monumentally popular guides. So starting tonight, we're making a small but important change to how reputation is awarded from guides. We are now limiting the total amount of reputation that a user can ever gain from a single guide to 2,000. This change is also retroactive, meaning that a small number of users (all but one of whom are present or past iFixit employees) will lose some of the reputation that they gained from specific guides.

The full list of who is affected, and how much rep they will lose is here:

The new cap of 2,000 reputation per guide encourages us all to stay continually active and engaged with our community, as well as encouraging us to contribute more guides, rather than just a few very successful ones. If you've got any questions or comments, feel free to post them here.
