MacBook Pro 2012 Teardown (Sorry if repost)

I have always used your site to assist with disassembling electronics. I find it very helpful.

I am rather disappointed with your tear down for the New Macbook Pro. It was not like your other tear downs which are very professional. This one riddled with comments came across as biased and hatred towards Apple products.

I felt as though I was reading a tear down created by some teenager on youtube.

I hope to see you stay on the professional direction without the trolling comments "mmmkay" (I could not believe you actually used that.)

Good Luck

I disagree. I personally think that their commentary is very important and adds a lot of value to the teardowns. While the repair guides should be strictly technical, the teardowns involve them giving us a lot of information, and are a cross between news article/blog post/repair guide. They are supposed to be more informative, rather than advisory.

Also, iFixit is pretty clear on the fact that they have an agenda.

As Kyle says, if your company doesn't have a manifesto you're doing it wrong: http://www.ifixit.com/manifesto

We have a tendency to make a lot of pop culture references when we write our teardowns; readers seem to really enjoy it. The statement that severing the fragile ribbon cable would be "bad, mmkay?" was a reference to South Park's Mr. Mackey, who is famous for his "drugs are bad" speech. I apologize if the remark came off as offensive or unprofessional.

Well then that just settles it. Thank you David Hodson for assuming I lived under a rock and did not know where the "mmmkay' came from. It is the very reason why I felt it was sophomoric. I want facts not trolling commentaries... but it is what it is... I just choose not to use the site again... I know that would not matter to ifixit. It matters to me, I'll stick to the sites that have a higher level of professionalism rather to this one which clearly has sour grapes because someone is tinkling on their agenda.

unprofessional!!! Us professionals need a little bit of humility to keep us sane ifixit helps us get our projects and repairs done and makes us laugh while doing it why bother them with your petty antics. you sir are the one with the problem that you can't take a good joke when you see one but that you see a good joke as something cynical and pompous. like those big executives and companies just trying to poke and pry at everything you can because you have nothing better to do.
