Somebody asked for headphone guides?:)

Okay, not the greatest pair of headphones, but easy enough to fix. The importance off this guide, even so it is another connector repair, is how to get the cushions off as well as how to dismantle it. I did not just want to refer to a general guide since I believe that people will be searching by specific model whenever they are needing help. Next I will finish my Bose OE and start the AE. I promise it's more than the connector. :) Hope this works, thanks.

Hello again, Mr. Turkey!

Sorry it took us so long to check out your guides! We were crazy last week with the release of that one Apple product… Anyways, the guide looks awesome; thanks a bunch! Here are a few critiques as you continue to add spectacular content to our site!

These first few critiques will be for the device page. The summary is spot-on in terms of brevity and usefulness. Props!

All of the information contained in the main sections of the device page is pertinent information but all falls mostly under the header of Tech Specs. In the Background and Identification section, we tend to include more information on the release of the device, the main selling points of the device, and the way(s) to distinguish this device from similar devices.

Lastly, the device picture is very clear and in the perfect 4:3 aspect ratio. The only thing we would do is put it on a white background and adjust the lighting to better illuminate the device.

These next critiques will be for the repair guide, itself, which let me start off by saying thank you for contributing! If we could get more users to contribute with the detail and frequency that you do, we would be set!

The naming convention on this guide is spot-on. Since you are actually repairing the internal wiring of the headphones, choosing "Repairing" instead of "Installing" was perfect.

Since the guide requires some soldering (a menial task for the advanced DIY-er but a challenge for those newer to DIY), we would make the difficulty "Difficult." We would also recommend linking to our Soldering Guide to give people some background info on how to solder.

The pictures in the guide do a great job at showing a lot of step overviews, and the accompanying text certainly helps. One thing to try to work on (I say 'work on' instead of 'do' because it is something that even we iFixit-ers have not been able to master!) is making the pictures and text show how to perform each action in addition to simply what action to perform. We try to tailor our text and pictures to the point that we are walking DIY-ers through exactly what to do and HOW to do it. Unfortunately, there is no concrete way to do this, so we just try to read through and make sure that, if we had no idea what was going on, we could still follow all of our guides.

The final word of advice we like to give is to make sure you read through guides one final time and check for three main things: clarity, spelling/grammar, and conciseness. I went ahead and did a quick once-through of this on your guide. :)

To sum it all up, your guides are awesome Mr. Turkey! Props for sticking it out through this entire daunting critique! Thanks for contributing, and we fully enjoy having you as a part of our community!

Happy Fixing,

Jake and the rest of the Tech Writers
