Why don't test on NAND storage quality & lifetime?

Got people test on bending this bored test, why no one test on NAND storage R/W life time vs performance, NAND capacity now become bigger and cheaper, it using TLC NAND, and below is the lifetime for NAND refer:

SLC write time 100K cycle.

MLC write time ~3K cycle.

TLC write time 300~500 cycle.

over this write cycle NAND storage will failure, and write time more cycle performance will drop. why no body burning test and compare all smartphone & tablet storage quality???

NAND storage also got read life, 1 program write into NAND block, it has a limit time to read out.

NAND program write into NAND block, it also can test on data retention time, keep it in chamber at 85C temp, to test on NAND data retention quality.

Update

Yes, but for future NAND lifetime is a importance life cycle test report to know SSD,Tablet,Phone storage quality. some of company “SxxSxxx" will do cheat on CPU feq benchmark, and how about cheap in NAND storage, may only 0.5~1 year over phone storage write speed silent heavy drop down for user, it may a cheat for user, if no one test on it.

etc.

A Phone 8GB: write ~800GB write speed drop.

B Phone 8GB: write ~500GB write speed drop.

C Phone 8GB: write ~1500GB write speed drop.

just discuss something on it. =)

While you do bring up a valid point on testing the SSD devices used in PC, tablets or phones.

Sadly this is not 'repair related' which is what IFIXIT is all about, but an issue of product design and the technology used in that device. There are other groups & sites which do testing I would strongly recommend you post your question there.

Agreed. This is an important topic, but it's outside of our skills to do a comprehensive lifecycle test. But I certainly wish that information on the short lifespan of MLC was more widely reported.
