Different Heat Sink than your repair guide...?

Hi

I ordered a new logic board for this machine and used your guides to install it. I found a couple of inconsistencies, though.

After I pulled the logic board out and flipped it over I noticed that the heat sink was different than the one pictured. Mine didn't curve around and go over the third processor- mine just went straight down to about where the RAM slots are. Also there was no sensor attached to it and I saw nowhere I could plug one into the board.

After I got the machine back together the fans have been on full blast constantly. I ran the AHT and got an error code 4SNS/1/C0000008: Th1H--124. A search told me that it was a faulty temp sensor. Is it the sensor that isn't on the board I have? I can't figure this one out. I tried all the other usual stuff like resetting the SMC and PRAM, still no luck with the fans. They are running at 5500 rpm and the machine is running a cool 86 degrees F. The fans start up before the chime even happens.

Any idea why I have a different heat sink than everyone else? And where is that thermal sensor? Thanks in advance to anyone that could help

Chris
