Retina MBP Battery Removal Suggestion: Fishing line
I'm wondering if anyone has tried sliding fishing line under one of the Retina MBP battery cells, and with both ends firmly in grasp (tied to a wooden dowel, pencil, whatever) pull back evenly on both sides to shear through the adhesive foam tape.
There are 6 cells, so you would do this 6 times and the battery would be free.
This method works very well for removing badges on vehicles and other items stuck with adhesive tape.
See iFixit's own page for Debadging a car for the idea:
Here's a video of someone using this method on a car.
Is this a good question?
