Why free rep from an admin?

I made sure I mentioned @mayer right by clicking on his name and I noticed this:

Free reputation from admin 5 200

Why would a person get free rep from an admin?

(I'm not asking for any. I know that would be a surefire way to anger/annoy admin)

Options

Mayer's been around a long time! From time to time, we've introduced bugs that have accidentally penalized reputation. We have the ability to restore those improperly-deducted points, and when we do it shows up on the historical record that way. Just keeping things fair!
