December 2017 Release Notes
Site Improvements
- We were giving 100 reputation points out every time a guide was translated. However, we realized that 100 rep is a little high for short guides and a little low for long guides. To remedy this, we changed the amount of reputation points given out for translating guides from 100 points to 30 points + 6 points per guide step.
- We changed the error message that displays when an attempted patrol is rejected. The message will now state the reason for the rejection—for example, failure to meet the rep threshold. Now you know why we do the things we do.
- We updated the progress bar on Answers pages to only reflect answers in the language a user has selected.
- Similar, consecutive revisions to a wiki will now be combined on the Wiki History page. It should be a little easier to read through now.
- When a wiki is reviewed by an Admin, 50 reputation points will now be divided among the owners of the wiki relative to the size of their contribution.
Bug Fixes
- We fixed a bug that prevented the guide intro video upload widget from displaying.
- We fixed the comment deletion confirmation modal. Clicking 'Cancel' now actually allows you to cancel the deletion.
- Our media manager was misbehaving and denying folks the ability to crop an image. We’ve had a serious talk with our media manager. It apologizes. You can now crop images in peace.
New Features
- We've introduced the Workbench feature! Access your Workbench through the toolbox icon in the header navigation bar. Use the Workbench to store devices you own or want quick access to. When looking at parts, we check against the selected device in your Workbench and let you know if the part that you're currently looking at is compatible with your device.
Is this a worthwhile discussion?
When did we jump ahead 11 months?
