IMPORTANT - iOS 11.3 has an issue w/ 3rd party Screens on iPhone 8!

Apple released iOS 11.3 at the end of March, and the update is killing touch functionality in iPhone 8s repaired with some aftermarket screens that worked prior to the update.

I haven't seen too many reports of this in the Q&A forum, but there are a couple. iFixit should check their inventory to verify it is safe.

Good point! Apple lack of offering parts leaves 3rd party parts suppliers in the wind as well as us that use these parts.

I wanted to follow up on this issue. Would it be safe to update an iPhone 6s with one of your screens, or would that render it useless?

@kannnation To my knowledge this bug never affected any iPhones other than the 8, 8 Plus, and X. Apple patched it within about a week with iOS 11.3.1. You can find more details here.

There should be no issue updating your 6s.

Thank you for the quick response. I have updated and it appears to be functioning normally. I'll update this post if anything goes awry. Thanks again!
