Can We Display our iFixit Reputation / Expertise on our Website?

I was wondering if this had been done and if it has not if it would be a good idea. Trust Pilot allows people to establish if they are dealing with a trustworthy business or not by collating people reviews of a companies service or product.

https://uk.trustpilot.com

Many of the people that contribute to helping others here at iFixit give of their time for little benefit other than to become more knowledgable and to help others.

Could iFixit arrange for a code snippet to be available for each profile so that your reputation can be displayed on your website? I think it would be very advantageous to be able to display your expertise to your potential customers.

Your thoughts please…

Hi Roland,

Thanks for your feedback! I'll pass your suggestion along and let you know if this is something that we can implement.

Thank-you, that would be cool

We’ve talked about doing this, but never really gotten around to it.

You can access your reputation and profile via our API if you wanted to make your own live widget, though!

The experienced Techs have the skill to compile the API, but I don't know if they have the time or want to devote the mental capacity.

Until it is widely recognised by the public, it will mean nothing, other than to say "Hey look, a whole bunch of your mates on a forum think you are great"

Why not monetise it with an annual fee of say $9.99? Its an opportunity to generate income..

@drfixit_tech You want me to contribute 5 + hours a day seven days a week AND pay a fee?

by

Just an idea @Mayer for iFixit to make it worth their while, you could even pay some of the top contributors or they could get the code, widget for free as a way of saying thanks for their contribution
