Public Service Announcement on iPhone 8 and Up

Just a heads up on Iphone 8 and up. If you are installing a new screen on the 8, 8 Plus and X, you will be able to install the new screen, HOWEVER, in MANY cases once the screen is installed and working, after an IOS update, you will probably be locked out of your phone.

Apple installed EDID(Extended Display Identification Data) in the IOS 11.3 on these phones. Please be aware. If anyone has had this happen, there are various solutions.

Apple released IOS 11.3.1 to remedy this problem, however the screen you purchase must be 11.3.1 compatible.

1) Replace the screen with a IOS 11.3.1 compatible screen.

2) If you had it done by a repair shop, they may replace it with the 11.3.1 compatible screen.

3)If you plan to do the repair, make sure you buy the IOS 11.3.1 compatible screen and make sure the supplier has a good return policy if the screen you get is not 11.3.1 compatible.

I hope this helps anyone that has had issues with this.
