Translation complete but still showing incomplete

I was trying to complete the Italian->English translation of HP Laptop 15-g053nl Hdd Replacement Step 4.

Whilst there I added a note to the effect that the iFixit jimmy is a great tool for this step. I also added the same in Italian to the Italian version.

The translation page shows both updates but the diffs don’t show the update to the Italian. Hence althogh the translation is complete, it refuses to mark it as such.

Am I missing something, or is this a bug? Perhaps it needs to be patrolled - but I don’t see any kind of flag to that effect.

Hi Philip!

It seems that in this case, you’ve inserted the Jimmy-info in the English version first and then afterwards to the Italian version, which was the original.

The best way to make that kind of change is to change the original version first and only then add the change to the translated version. The thing is that if the change in the original version is done AFTER you already adapted the translated version, the translation will be flagged as outdated, even if it's correct. (Every time that happens to me, I just go back to my translation and do some minor change, for example in a comma or word order, hit "save" again and then the flag is gone).

This is kind of what we did for your current guide now, we made a small correction in English, and now it's also displayed as up-to-date: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/translate/1....

I hope I could help!

All the best,

Sandra
