Tear down for Dummies

Just replaced my USB-C port… In the process.. As I am not very technical inclined…. I messed up the track pad flat cable hook up… In the descriptions it tells you to flip up something. But really does not described what it is that you are flipping up. While trying to flip up the lock…which I didn't know was this tiny plastic clip…. I bent a pin in the track pad. Now needs to be replaced. In the fixit guide… For those less knowledgeable… This should be explained better….

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Keith,

Thanks for your feedback! Our technical writers took your concern into account and updated the instructions here. The image is cropped to show the connector more clearly, and we’ve added a resource for cable connectors. which you can check out here: Recognizing and Disconnecting Cable Connectors.

I hope this clears things up a bit! Let me know if you have any questions.
